Traffic Tied Up By Car Fire On I-695 In MD

Several lanes were closed on I-695 in Maryland on Thursday morning when a car went up in flames.

A car fire on the Inner Loop of the interstate near Perring Parkway forced first responders to close the right two lanes of I-695 while they extinguished the fire and investigated, leaving only one lane open to traffic.

The fire was extinguished as of 11:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, though crews remained at the scene.

It is unclear what caused the car fire.
